Discipline is believed to be one of the main pillars of modern life.Discipline does not mean punishment. To be disciplined means being able to analyze what lead you to stray from your plan, and then take the proper actions to prevent it from reoccurring. If you stray from your plans, for instance, it's not because you don't have willpower. You can have a lot of willpower and still have moments where you simply want to deviate and play away from the path.
Success comes from conscious thinking and reasoning. When the urge deviate occurs in your brain, ask yourself why. What will this move do for me? Beyond the momentary change, how do I benefit from this in the short or long term?
Discipline gives a person the power to stick with their decisions and follow them through. This makes discipline a critical component and one of the most important requirements for achieving goals of any kind in life.
I've been involved in fitness for so long, and I've applied this disciplined attitude daily and works for business. All achievers have a system that they do daily and this takes discipline. Discipline leads to improvement and success, and for kids, teenagers and young adults it also gives them the power and inner strength needed to overcome many of life's major challenges. Kids raised with a good sense of discipline will have the ability to overcome addictions, procrastination and laziness as well. Obviously, discipline is a very useful and needed skill in everyone's life, and it takes time and practice to develop and strengthen it.
No matter how old you are, you can find a way to grow and develop your own sense of discipline, or help kids learn more about it so they too can thrive in life and overcome the hurdles that may come their way.
"Talent without discipline is like an octopus on roller skates. There's plenty of movement, but you never know if it's going to be forward, backwards or sideways." – Brad Larsen Standard-Examiner correspondent.
Professionally, self-discipline is a matter of breaking habits that break your business and building habits that build your business.
Self-discipline generates trust and confidence in you, and attracts trust and confidence from others. The constant act of self-discipline magnifies your power to accomplish your personal and professional goals.
In business, marketing, planning, spending, call backs, appointments and more all take discipline and are key to the survival and success of your business. In small business environments we get distracted by being pulled in so many directions, employment management, filing and so much more can really become unruly. Innovation in business requires discipline as much as it does creativity: Creativity to come up with novel strategies; Discipline to execute them, so that ideas turn into profitable innovations.
Operate your business with discipline, and you'll see positive changes. Even if your business is well-established, adding new levels of discipline throughout your processes will yield results.
I would like to hear from you.
